Our Pricing Policy
Our "trades" are priced one of three ways:
1. 40% off the publisher's retail price if more than $2.50
(Example -Retail price $5.99 - our price $3.59)
2. $1.50 if publisher’s retail price is $2.50 or less
(Example - Retail price $1.95 - our price $1.50)
3. Items with “Red Dots“ are the price marked on the red dot
New books are discounted 20% for cash.
Our Trade-In Policy
In fairness to all we ask that you bring in no more than 25 books per visit.
Although we
would like to accept all books in trade, we are limited to the quantity and
quality of books
that you, our customers, are purchasing. Of course books and tapes purchased at
B & L
Books are always welcome back unless their quality is diminished. Final Sale
books
cannot be returned.
You will earn up to 20% of the publisher’s retail price for the books you trade
in. When
we accept your trades, we will give you a credit receipt for the total amount of
the credit
you earned. As we do not keep duplicate records of the credit, we ask that you
present
your receipt at the time of purchase.
Credit may be used for:
1. 1/2 Our price of "trades"
(Example: Our price $3.00 = $1.50 credit & $1.50 cash)
2. 35% of Publisher's retail price of new books
(Example: Publisher price $6.99=$2.45 credit & $4.54 cash)
3. 1/2 the "Red Dot" price
(Example: Red Dot price $2.00=$1.00 credit & $1.00 cash)
Credit may not be used for:
*Hardcover Books
*Collectibles
*Sidewalk Books (books for sale on our sidewalk cart or sidewalk sales)
